GIAC TAYLOR - CHUNK

Heavy riffs, psychedelic tension and a taste for the sinister: Giac Taylor takes his Giallo Stoner sound to the California desert for CHUNK, his second official album.

Recorded in just six days at Rancho de la Luna in Joshua Tree, California, CHUNK pairs the studio’s vintage character with the dark, cinematic atmosphere of 1970s Italian giallo films. Produced by Dave Catching and Giac Taylor, and recorded by Jon Russo, it captures a band feeding off the surroundings of one of desert rock’s most storied studios.

Black Mountain’s Stephen McBean joins on guitar and vocals for “On My Arm Around My Neck” and “Century of Sins.” Dave Catching adds a guitar solo to “Heroin” and an evil laugh to “Tell the Kids,” with mixing and mastering by R3MYBOY.

And the title? CHUNK is named after Dave Catching’s dog, who struck up a special friendship with Giac during the sessions.

Ten tracks on translucent green vinyl with black smoke, with artwork by Maiko Moreau and a printed photo-collage inner sleeve documenting the Rancho de la Luna sessions.

Release date: 5 February 2027. Preorders will be shipped in early 2027.
